Home > Annual Leader Pin Volunteer event a success!
March 12, 2009
On Saturday, March 7th, over 200 volunteers gathered at Trinity Church and assembled over 35,000 Penny Harvest Leader Pins! That is enough pins for students in over 1,100 schools.
These pins - literally made out of pennies - are a symbol of pride and leadership for the student leaders who wear them. They wear them as they rally their entire school to gather pennies and beat the 25 Sack Challenge; they wear them when the go on site visits investigating potential charities to support; and they wear them at Check Award Assemblies when they present non-profits with their grants.
These pins are one part of a comprehensive suite of tools and experiences we provide students to ensure they become our future leaders and change-makers.
Thanks again to the many volunteers who lent a hand, including teams from New York Cares, One Brick, Con Edison, City Kids, Credit Suisse to name just a few. A special thanks to our host, Trinity Church.
